On September 6, 2025, new faces joined the government team led by Ousmane Sonko. Among them were Cheikh Niang, who headed the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad, and Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, who became Minister of the Interior and Public Security.

Cheikh Niang, Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad

He has a long career in the service of Senegalese diplomacy. "A consecration for this seasoned diplomat, who for more than three decades has embodied Senegalese experience and expertise on the international scene," reads a UN press release. Born on July 10, 1957 in Thiès, Cheikh Niang, then Permanent Representative of Senegal to the United Nations, was elected, on June 4, 2019, Chair of the Second Committee (Economic and Financial) of the 74th session of the General Assembly.

The new Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad held, in July 2018, "the prestigious position of Permanent Representative of Senegal to the UN." "His career is marked by a series of high diplomatic positions: Ambassador to Japan (2014-2018), with accreditation to several Asia-Pacific countries; Ambassador to the United States (2012-2014), also accredited to several Latin American countries; then Ambassador to South Africa (2010-2012), with missions to ten southern African countries," it is reported. Before these responsibilities, Cheikh Niang represented Senegal as Consul General in New York (2006-2010) and as Minister Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Senegal to the UN (2001-2006). Diplomatic advisor to the President of the Republic between 1995 and 2001, he previously headed the Africa Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister trained at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) in Dakar before pursuing his higher education in the United Kingdom, at Lancaster University and the University of Westminster. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in English from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar.

Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, Minister of the Interior and Public Security

Former conference secretary and winner of the first prize of the Francophone Bar Association of Africa, Maître Bamba Cissé has been a lawyer at the Dakar Bar since 2003. "He has a strong practice in criminal law, criminal procedure, civil law and Senegalese civil procedure. He has also defended major figures in this country such as singer Thione Seck, wrestling promoter Luc Nicolaï, preacher Taib Socé, Mbaye Touré (in the Khalifa Sall case), Imam Alioune Ndao, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko," according to Emedia.

Déthié Fall, Minister of Infrastructure

He joined Pastef on October 23, 2024, after leaving the Samm Sa Kaddu coalition, led by Barthélemy Dias, on the eve of the legislative election campaign on November 17, 2024. Leader of the Republican Party for Progress, Déthié Fall was appointed Minister of Infrastructure on September 6. He was previously a Minister Counselor.

Amadou Bâ, Minister of Culture, Crafts and Tourism

Originally from Thiès and a member of the National Assembly, Amadou Bâ was Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye's representative for the submission of candidacies for the 2024 presidential election. He is a lawyer by training and holds a DEA from the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD). Fifth Vice-President of the National Assembly and member of the High Court of Justice in this 15th legislature, Amadou Bâ has been, since that day, Minister of Culture, Crafts and Tourism.
