The urban security of the Guédiawaye central police station has arrested a suspected drug trafficker.

An arrest following reliable information

The operation originated from reliable information received by the police. This information allowed investigators to identify and track the suspect, S. Diène, aged 28, who described himself as a worker and resides in Pikine.

Police surveillance led the police to the area around the "Escale" inn-bar in Malibou, where the suspect was finally arrested.

During the arrest, the police carried out a security search which proved particularly successful. This search revealed the following in the suspect's possession:

- Eight (8) kepas of hashish

- Fourteen (14) kepas of MDA10 (synthetic drug)

- A sum of 73,500 CFA francs, presumed to be the proceeds from the sale of narcotics

Partial confession from the suspect

Questioned briefly about the origin and ownership of the seized substances, S. Diène admitted that the drugs belonged to him. However, he provided no details about the supply routes or the extent of his trafficking activity, according to Seneweb sources.

Placement in police custody

Following this discovery and the suspect's partial confession, S. Diène was taken into custody for possession and trafficking of narcotics. This arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of the intelligence and surveillance work carried out by the Guédiawaye police services.

The investigation will now have to determine the extent of the network in which the suspect operated and identify possible accomplices in this drug trafficking which is rife in the Dakar suburbs.
