Kaffrine : la gendarmerie démantèle un réseau de vol de bétail, deux bergers déférés, 13 chèvres retrouvés
The Kaffrine Territorial Brigade of the Gendarmerie Company has put an end to the activities of two suspected cattle thieves. Caught in the act, they were brought before the Public Prosecutor at the local High Court, according to Seneweb sources.
On February 22, 2026, the gendarmes of Kaffrine took action. As part of a targeted operation against cattle theft, they arrested two individuals in possession of thirteen goats of suspicious origin.
The two defendants, Y. Sow, 23, and O. Ba, 24, are both shepherds and residents of Ndiawar. Placed in police custody, they were questioned about the charges against them.
The thirteen goats had been stolen from A. Cissé, 43, a breeder residing in Mara, in the same commune of Diokoul Mbelbouck.
At the end of the investigation, the two accused were prosecuted for cattle theft and brought before the Public Prosecutor at the High Court of Kaffrine.
