Kédougou : La BRS démantèle deux réseaux de trafic de drogue lors d’opérations nocturnes
The Kédougou Research Brigade (BRS/KDG) conducted a series of targeted operations during the night of Saturday 3 to Sunday 4 January 2026, which led to the dismantling of two networks trafficking illicit substances, including tramadol and Indian hemp.
The first operation took place on January 3, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM in the Togoro neighborhood, following an operational intelligence report concerning the trafficking of prohibited medications. An individual identifying himself as Mouhamadou Ibrahima, a 20-year-old Nigerien national residing in Dinguessou, was apprehended.
The suspect, who manages a small restaurant in the neighborhood, was arrested at his workplace in possession of seven tramadol tablets. He was taken into custody for illegally selling medication and practicing pharmacy without a license.
On January 4, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., a second BRS operation was carried out in Bantaco, following consistent reports of an Indian hemp trafficking network. Two individuals were arrested: Ibrahima Camara, 30 years old, a Guinean national and gold miner residing in Bantaco, and his compatriot Alpha Omar Diallo, 18 years old, also a gold miner.
According to investigators, Ibrahima Camara, alias "Ibro," operated from his home, where he stored and sold drugs. His modus operandi involved using Alpha Omar Diallo as an intermediary responsible for delivering the products. An undercover operation allowed agents to order a 125-gram shipment of cannabis, which was delivered unsuspectingly by the intermediary.
Alpha Omar Diallo was apprehended in his room where a package of marijuana was discovered. Detectives then went to Ibrahima Camara's residence, where three blocks of marijuana, weighing a total of 3 kg, were seized. The total quantity of drugs recovered thus amounts to 3.125 kg.
The two suspects were taken into custody for conspiracy, possession and trafficking of Indian hemp.
Investigations are continuing to identify any possible ramifications of these networks in the region.
