Poukham Tock: Une femme retrouvée pendue dans un jardin de manguiers
A gruesome discovery rocked the village of Poukham Tock, in the commune of Mbellacadiao (Fatick department), this Monday. The lifeless body of a woman was found, hanging with a rope in a mango garden located at the entrance to the village.
According to the information gathered, the Diakhao community brigade was alerted around 6 p.m. by the village chief, who had been informed by a local resident. The latter, returning from a trip, reportedly noticed a rope hanging from a tree before noticing the presence of a body. Panicked, he immediately alerted the village authorities.
According to initial reports, the victim, believed to be in her forties, was seen sitting alone near the garden around 3 p.m. A few hours later, she was found hanged.
At this stage, his identity has not yet been formally established. Photographs have been taken and transmitted to surrounding village chiefs in an effort to facilitate his identification.
Initial investigations at the scene revealed no signs of a struggle or apparent injuries. Near the body, investigators found a pair of shoes and a bag containing a scarf and glasses. Evidence suggests the victim may have hidden the rope in the bag before committing the act, taking advantage of a moment of solitude.
The body was taken to the Fatick regional hospital by the firefighters.
