Thiès : Pour une banale histoire, elle fracture le bras de sa sœur à coups de bâton
A case of domestic violence was judged this Friday by the Thiès court of flagrant offenses.
Married and a mother of several children, Y. Wade appeared in court for intentional assault and battery (CBV) resulting in a temporary incapacity for work (ITT) of 35 days on her sister, F. Diop.
The defendant admitted to the facts. According to her statements, the altercation stemmed from a dispute involving her child.
“My sister F. Diop mistreated my child and I intervened. She insulted him and when I asked her to leave him alone, she called me all sorts of names. We then fought and I hit her with a stick. I regret my action. I acted in the heat of the moment,” she explained.
The public prosecutor considered the facts to be consistent and requested the application of the law.
In the end, Y. Wade was found guilty by the judge and sentenced to three months in prison with a suspended sentence.
