Zac-Mbao : la police démantèle un réseau de faussaires sénégalo-nigérians
On Thursday, February 12, officers from the Zac-Mbao police station put an end to the activities of an organized gang specializing in the production of fake Senegalese official documents.
In its edition of Friday, February 13, L'Observateur reports that the operation was made possible thanks to a successful infiltration by the Criminal Investigation Brigade. Police located the network's base in a house in the Nar housing project. There, five individuals were caught in the act of producing counterfeit documents.
The group consisted of two Nigerians, I. Lekan (57 years old) and A. Amadou (24 years old), as well as two Senegalese, M. Diop (65 years old) and I. Diop (47 years old), according to the same source. The text specifies that five people were arrested, although only four names were released.
Materials and documents seized
The search uncovered a veritable arsenal of counterfeit documents. Among the seized items were 18 Senegalese passports, 17 of which were intended for European and Arab nationals, as well as blank identity card stubs.
The technical equipment included computers, printers, USB drives, ink cartridges, and A4 sheets of paper.
Investigators also seized specialized tools, including seven date machines, seven stamps, and a document counterfeit detector, used by counterfeiters to check the quality of their forgeries.
The suspects have been taken into custody. They are being prosecuted on several serious charges, including criminal conspiracy, document forgery, and the use of forged public documents, adds the newspaper of the Future Media Group.
