The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco will be remembered for a long time, as the match was as tense as it was unbelievable. From kickoff to final whistle, the game was marked by a series of controversies and surreal scenes, both on the pitch and in the stands.
It all started with a Senegalese goal being disallowed under controversial circumstances, sparking outrage among the Lions' supporters. In the aftermath, a penalty deemed very generous in favor of Morocco further heightened tensions, leading to scenes of chaos in the stands and an electric atmosphere around the pitch.
But the incidents weren't limited to refereeing decisions. On the sidelines, a rather comical situation drew attention: Édouard Mendy's famous towel became the object of everyone's desire. Several times, the young Moroccan ball boys rushed to remove it, disrupting the Senegalese goalkeeper's ritual.
Faced with this situation, Yehvann Diouf, the Lions' third-choice goalkeeper, decided to take matters into his own hands. As the match went into extra time, he spent several minutes watching over and protecting his teammate's towel. He didn't hesitate to walk around the pitch, even playfully making the ball boys run to prevent any further attempts.
The most surreal moment came when Morocco were pushing for an equalizer. Diouf then went behind the goal to secure the precious towel, triggering a bizarre scene. Swarmed by the ball boys, he was literally dragged out of the penalty area, to the astonishment of the players and the crowd.
This episode was not the first of its kind. In the semi-final against Nigeria, the Moroccan ball boys had already made headlines by repeatedly removing the towel from Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, sparking outrage from the opposing camp.
Between controversial refereeing decisions, tensions in the stands, and unusual scenes on the sidelines, this Senegal/Morocco final offered a spectacle as intense as it was chaotic, far beyond the realm of mere sport. An evening that will remain etched in history as one of the most controversial in the recent history of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Quelle honte quand-même pour le Maroc
This is what I do......................................... CASH54.COM
Yes man, Diom rek !
