A few hours after Victor Diagne's media appearance on the circumstances of his departure, Linguère de Saint-Louis published a statement to provide details on the situation of their now former coach.

In this statement, the Saint-Louis club asserts that it learned "with bitterness and surprise" of the statements circulating on social media and in certain media outlets regarding the coaching staff. The Linguère management specifically refutes the idea of a dismissal imposed by Amara Traoré.

According to the statement, it was Victor Diagne himself who decided to resign from his position as soon as Amara Traoré was added to the coaching staff. "Contrary to reports in some media outlets, it was indeed coach Victor Diagne who, of his own volition, refused to continue in his role," the club clarified.

Linguère also adds that Amara Traoré has "no power" allowing him to dismiss a coach, insisting on his desire to "restore the truth of the facts with clarity and serenity".

In a delicate sporting context, the club is calling for unity around the team in order to ensure survival in Ligue 1. The management believes that the current situation requires "commitment, solidarity and a sense of responsibility", while regretting that "ego considerations" could further weaken the collective.

The northern club took the opportunity to reiterate its commitment to supporting young coaches. However, Linguère emphasized that top-level competition demands "much more than a license," highlighting the need for managerial skills, experience, and proven expertise. As a reminder, Linguère is currently ranked 14th with 24 points, with two matchdays remaining.

Vous ne lui avez pas demandé de démissionner mais vous avez créé à dessein, les conditions de son abandon, voire démission. En tant qu’entraîneur, vous ne devriez pas lui imposer quelqu'un qu'il n'a pas choisi. Comme monsieur Jourdain, vous, dirigeants de l'équipe, avez fait de la prose sans en avoir l'air.

Très bien dit. Amara se prend pour l'alpha et l'oméga de la Linguère. Partout où il est passé, y a son égo surdimensionné qui gâche tout.. Au peuple frère du Mali, faites bien attention: Amara n'a ni le charisme encore moins les compétences pour faire avancer votre EN. C'est juste un 'ti mercenaire qui s'appuie sur son passé de footeux (Guegnon, les forgerons) et son passage à L'EN du Sénégal 🇸🇳 avec les résultats que l'on connaît. Grande gueule, il ne vous apportera RIEN du tout, absolument RIEN! Faites bien attention! Un frère Sénégalais 🇸🇳 qui vous aime bien

Un entraîneur ou sélectionneur qui se respecte n'acceptera point les conditions que vous voulez lui imposer, soit lui adjoindre un autre entraineur ici nommé Amara. C'est bien une sorte de mise sous tutelle. Ceci pour dire que Victor a donc raison de partir, vous laissant avec votre Amara au four et au moulin dans un club très moyen, voire faible!
