Following Stade Rennais' 1-2 defeat to OGC Nice on Sunday in Ligue 1, Brice Samba set the record straight. The 31-year-old French international goalkeeper, who has made nine league appearances this season, firmly denied rumors of internal tensions with coach Habib Bèye.
In the mixed zone, the Breton goalkeeper spoke out. "We didn't let the coach down. It shows in the way we behave on the pitch. A dead team doesn't react that way. We're always behind the coach, we respect his instructions, we put into practice what he asks us to do," he said.
Samba, visibly annoyed by some of the information circulating in recent days, insisted on defending his professional integrity. "What was said about me is slander, made-up things. It's absurd, it calls into question my professional integrity," he denounced.
