Tambacounda : Bras de fer entre l’ODCAV et la CRA, les Navétanes risquent de sombrer
The popular championship commonly known as "Navetanes" is shaken by an unprecedented crisis in Tambacounda between the Departmental Organization for the Coordination of Holiday Activities (ODCAV) and the Regional Referees Commission (CRA). This commission has decided to suspend its collaboration, forcing the Navétanes structure to use former footballers to officiate matches. It all started with a match counting for the last day of Group A of Zone 2/A of the ODCAV of Tamba. A match marred by incidents caused by players of ASC Kalbora, led 1-0 by ASC Les Amis du Rail. It was after a red card to an ASC Kalbora player, following a tackle deemed irregular by the referee, that his teammates rushed towards the game master and one of his assistants, whom they seriously injured. It took the intervention of the GMI elements to avoid the worst.
ASC Kalbora players then ransacked the stadium's locker rooms. Without delay, referee B. Traoré, armed with a medical certificate, filed a complaint with the prosecutor at the Tambacounda High Court. The investigation opened by the Tambacounda central police station led to the arrest of the suspects. There are two people involved, and another managed to escape. Brought into custody at the end of their legal period of custody, the two suspects were placed in custody. Thus, the ODCAV and the four zones that make up the municipality of Tambacounda found no better option than to ask the CRA to remove the referee for the rest of the competitions, by means of an information letter dated 09/18/2025.
The CRA, in its response by letter dated 19/09/2025, gave an unfavorable opinion to the request of the Navétanes movement, defending the integrity and position of its referee to put an end to violence in stadiums. Consequently, the ODCAV and the zones decided to temporarily break off their collaboration with the CRA of Tambacounda.
The Navétanes movement has finally called on former footballers to officiate the semi-final matches of the zones and preliminary rounds of the Mayor's Cup and the departmental phases. A situation that is not to the liking of ASC leaders and football enthusiasts who are asking ONCAV to call the ODCAV of Tamba to order in the face of this impasse which threatens the "Navetanes" in Tambacounda. According to Abdoulaye Diallo, leader of ASC Avenir, those who lead the Navétanes in Tambacounda are doing too much and it is time for President Amadou Kane to react to put order in the ranks of the leaders of the Navétanes movement whom he describes as "incompetent".
