Crise economique : Madana Kane critique le recrutement d'enseignants et plaide pour l'injection de fonds dans les PME
Economist and Startup Dundu party leader Madana Kane presented the Economic Recovery Acceleration Program (PARÉ), designed to address the current economic crisis in Senegal. His remarks on public finance management are likely to spark controversy, particularly among teachers.
Speaking about budgetary constraints, Madana Kane expressed his opposition to the current plan to recruit 500 new teachers. He stated: "I do not agree with funding 500 new teachers. [...] We cannot be in a country facing serious budgetary constraints and continue to increase the burden on the state, even though education remains a fundamental pillar of development."
The former director general of the Islamic Bank of Senegal believes that the resources intended for these recruitments would be better used for the benefit of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which he considers to be the essential engine of economic recovery.
He explained: "Rather than paying for 500 new teachers, I would use that budget to reinvest in SMEs. These businesses can generate up to 640 billion FCFA in tax revenue over three years. From there, it will be possible to implement a gradual program to increase the number of teachers."
Madana Kane maintains that he is not opposed to teachers, but he believes that the state no longer has the "financial capacity to bear new structural burdens" in the current context of a "deep economic crisis." He advocates for a strategic reorientation of public resources towards SMEs, which he identifies as a key driver for economic recovery, job creation, boosting consumption, and broadening the national tax base.

Par contre, il faudrait balayer tous ceux qui sont payés sans travailler, tous les retraités qui gardent encore illégalement leurs postes pendant des années par le subterfuge de contrats spéciaux de prestation.
