The Karang customs commercial brigade, under the Fatick customs subdivision, carried out a major drug seizure as part of the fight against international drug trafficking.

The operation carried out on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, resulted in the discovery of 10 slabs and 26 bags of hashish weighing a total of 3.5 kg. The drugs were found during a check of a public transport vehicle targeted thanks to reliable intelligence and compelling evidence.

Following a thorough search, customs officers identified and arrested the suspected possessor of the illicit goods. He is a Senegalese national in his thirties.

According to customs officials, the value of the seized drugs is estimated at 17.5 million CFA francs.

The suspect was taken into custody pending his appearance before the prosecutor at the Fatick High Court.
