Coupe du monde 2026 : Ancelotti fixe ses conditions pour Neymar
Although absent from the Brazilian national team since October 2023, Neymar Jr. still hopes to play in the 2026 World Cup with Brazil. Just days before the announcement of his squad, Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed the Santos striker's situation.
The Italian coach made it clear that the international future of the former Paris Saint-Germain player depended above all on his performances and physical condition.
“Neymar’s selection depends entirely on him. It all depends on what he shows on the pitch. This criterion applies to all players. You have to assess their talent and their physical condition. With Neymar, there is no doubt about his talent. Above all, you have to observe his physical condition,” Ancelotti said in an interview with the “Guardian”.
Back in Santos colors, Neymar (34 years old, 128 caps and 79 goals) is showing encouraging signs. In his last three matches, the Brazilian striker has scored two goals and provided one assist.
