Goudomp - Un jeune saute sur une mine et perd une jambe
The village of Sare Koundia, located in the commune of Niagha (Goudomp department), was rocked this Tuesday by a sad story of an antipersonnel mine. The victim, young A. Balde, had gone to his horticultural garden located in Sare Bori, a village of displaced people, to pick lemons.
It was on his way back that he stepped on a mine, causing an explosion that caused him to lose a leg.
Informed, the competent authorities evacuated him to the Kolda regional hospital where he underwent an amputation.
A. Balde is married and the father of a baby.
