Transport urbain à Dakar : Le CETUD rassure malgré la grève, 98 % du service assuré
In response to the strike action launched by some transport unions, the Executive Council for Sustainable Urban Transport (CETUD) is seeking to reassure the public. In a statement sent to Seneweb, CETUD announced a series of measures designed to guarantee the continuity of public transport services in the Dakar region.
Under the leadership of the Ministry of Land and Air Transport, the main operators of the urban network have remained fully mobilized. These include Dakar Dem Dikk, the Urban Transport Financing Association (AFTU), and Dakar Mobilité, which manages the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). Together, they are working to meet the transportation needs of the population, despite the disruptions.
To mitigate the impact of the strike, specific measures have been taken, including increasing transport services. Some key lines may see their operation extended until 10 p.m. to facilitate travel for passengers.
CETUD also points out that the network operated by operators affiliated with AFTU is functioning at 98%, even though occasional disruptions are observed in some bus stations.
In order to ensure the safety of workers and users, defense and security forces have been deployed on the ground.
