Laye Ananas brise le silence : "Élire Sonko en 2029 est mon objectif"
A major figure on the music scene, the artist-composer Laye Ananas needs no introduction in Senegal or abroad. He and his company, Lions Africa, are among the ambassadors of African culture worldwide.
Honored by Guinea's artistic community at a press conference on Monday, May 18, the Senegalese artist spoke about the country's political situation. When asked about his political affiliation, Laye Ananas stated his support for Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, who is also the president of the Pastef party. His goal: to elect him to the presidency in 2029.
"I campaigned for Pastef in Scandinavia and Europe. Today, given the situation, my only objective is to elect Ousmane Sonko in 2029 in the first round, warning anyone who tries to prevent me from doing so," he told the press.
As a reminder, Laye Ananas is one of the African artists invited to the opening ceremony of the World Cup in the United States, as well as in 2022 in Qatar. He made a name for himself thanks to his choreographic performances with the faux lions and his artistic creations acclaimed by international critics.
