Affaire Impact’Elle(s) : Les concernées s’expliquent
Following the controversy surrounding the name "Impact'Elle(s)", those involved have taken turns releasing statements to give their version of events, this Monday, July 6, 2026 on their respective social networks.
While the “Impact’Elles” project was recently launched in the presence of the First Lady, Absa Faye, on July 3, 2026, the pre-existing structure “Impact’elle”, created in 2020, is demanding a clarification of legal identities.
In its statement, the Impact'Elles office specifies that it is constituted in the form of a GIE (Economic Interest Group), regularly registered with APIX since 2025. Its managers claim to have intellectual property protection for the name since May 2025 and assure that no other group was using this name during the checks.
To defuse the situation, the organization maintains that it contacted the opposing party immediately before its official ceremony. Its members also point out that the historical entity's Facebook page only displayed the name "Impactelle" on July 1, 2026, two days before their event. Deploring accusations that damage their reputation, they urge everyone to prioritize dialogue or legal proceedings.
For its part, the association, founded in 2020, issued a formal denial. With an official receipt to support her claim, its president, Ms. Lamba Ka, asserts that she has received no direct approach to resolve this dispute. On the contrary, she maintains that she attempted to have a letter delivered by a bailiff for 72 hours, without success, as those involved refused to accept it.
On the substance of the matter, she points out that under Senegalese law, a GIE (Economic Interest Group) and an association are two completely distinct entities. She criticizes the new project for having conducted its entire communication campaign and sent out official invitations under the name "Impact'Elles Association," thus creating confusion among the public and partners.
The 2020 structure specifies that it does not dispute the existence of the GIE, but demands that it communicate under its true identity.
The association "Impact'Elle" has issued a formal notice demanding that the GIE cease using the term "Association," failing which it will take legal action through administrative and judicial authorities. For its part, the board of "Impact'Elles" remains calm, reiterating that its mission remains unchanged and that it reserves the right to take legal action to defend its rights.
