Natation : Oumy Diop, deux titres et un record à Oran
Senegalese swimmer Oumy Diop dominated the 17th African Swimming Championships in Oran, Algeria, where she won two continental titles in the space of 48 hours. On May 6, she triumphed in the 50m butterfly in 27.03 seconds, shattering her own national record and securing her qualification for the 2026 World Championships.
The very next day, the standard-bearer of Senegalese swimming confirmed her talent by winning gold in the 50m backstroke with a time of 29.35, reports Le Soleil.
Despite a setback at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Oumy Diop, African champion since 2021 and holder of several national records, confirms her status as a leader in sprinting on the continent.
